Botswana Victoria Falls Adventure Tour

You will be met at Victoria Falls Airport and driven to your hotel in Victoria Falls, which will take approximately 20 minutes. You’ll spend three nights at Victoria Falls Hotel on a bed and breakfast basis.

Victoria Falls, known locally as Mosi-oa-Tunya (The Smoke That Thunders), is one of the most breathtaking natural wonders on Earth. Located on the Zambezi River, which forms the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe in southern Africa, it is renowned for its stunning beauty, immense scale, and ecological significance.

Following breakfast, you’ll depart on a morning tour of Victoria Falls. This natural phenomenon is one of the seven natural Wonders of the World. Observe this immense curtain of water cascading over 100m. After the tour, you are free to spend the rest of your day at leisure either using the hotel facilities, or exploring the beautiful landscape around you.

After breakfast, you will be met and taken on a one and a half hour drive to Chobe National Park. Chobe National Park, located in northern Botswana, is one of Africa’s premier wildlife destinations. Covering approximately 11,700 square kilometers (4,517 square miles), it is renowned for its remarkable biodiversity, rich ecosystems, and large concentrations of wildlife. It is also the first national park established in Botswana, in 1968.

In the afternoon, you’ll have the option to embark on a boat cruise that heads directly towards the sunset as elephant, hippo, buffalo and a profusion of birdlife grace the riverbanks.

In the morning, you will be met and taken on a one hour and 20 minute flight by light aircraft from Kasane to the Okavango Delta.

Situated in the northwestern corner of Botswana, the Okavango Delta is a UNESCO World Heritage site as it is the largest inland delta in the world. The magnificent Okavango River sprawls out over the dry sands of the Kalahari Desert forming this flourishing waterlogged oasis featuring countless meandering waterways and crystal clear lagoons and fertile floodplains abundant with wildlife.

Enjoy a number of activities such as game viewing, fishing, bird watching or taking an authentic excursion in a mokoro (a traditional dugout canoe) through this wetland paradise.

From the Delta, proceed to Moremi Game reserve by light air-craft. Situated in the east of the Okavango Delta, Moremi Game Reserve ranks as one of the most beautiful reserves in Africa. You can explore more than 4,871 square kilometres of pristine wilderness, and experience a variety of terrain including savannah, winding waterways, and dense forest.

This diverse ecosystem supports an incredibly wide spectrum of wildlife, ranging from large herds of buffalo, wildebeest and zebra, to the rare sitatunga and lechwe antelope, lion, cheetah. If you’re lucky, you might spot packs of wild dog in the open grasslands. The birdlife is prolific here and you have a chance to spot many of the 550 bird species recorded on Botswana’s national bird list.

After breakfast, you will take a one hour flight on a chartered light aircraft to Camp Kalahari. Rest your head for three nights at Camp Kalahari in a tented suite on a full board basis.

Set in the heart of the dry savannah of northeastern Botswana, the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans is the world’s largest network of salt pans stretching over 3,900 square kilometres and formed on the bed of the ancient Makgadikgadi Lake that began evaporating aeons ago.

Camp Kalahari is a relaxed, traditional safari camp, ideal if you are seeking fun and adventure but not wishing to sacrifice comfort or style. The camp is an eclectic mix of original African furniture and textiles paired with traditional safari-style furniture and colonial antiques.

During your stay you’ll get up-close and personal with a group of meerkats. Spend time bushwalking with San people, the local indigenous community, who will give you a glimpse into their ancient culture. You can opt for morning and afternoon game drives if you wish to experience unique desert wildlife.

If you wish, you can also join an optional tour of Chapman’s Baobab at the campsite of Livingstone & Selous, which is one of the three largest and oldest trees in the whole of Africa.

The following activities are available on a chargeable basis. In the dry season you can go quad biking across the lunar expanse of the pans, or go stargazing on the pans after sunset for your own natural planetarium show with horizon-to-horizon stars. During the wet season, you have the opportunity to experience the spectacular migration of zebra and wildebeest – which is the second biggest on the continent and the last remaining in southern Africa.

After breakfast, take the 45 minute long charter light aircraft flight from Camp Kalahari to Maun Airport. From here your Grand Tour of Botswana ends and you are welcome to continue with your own arrangements.
