Best Time To Visit Dubai

There is no question too small. Start planning your dream trip by talking to our Destination Specialists

Best Time to Visit Dubai – By Season

Winter – With daytime highs ranging from 25°C to 30°C, the word ‘winter’ might seem like a misnomer, but that’s about how cool it gets in Dubai. With sightseeing-perfect weather conditions, December to February is the best time of the year to visit Dubai. You can enjoy the beaches, explore souks and wander around Old Town during this period, making it the best time to visit Dubai weather-wise.

Dubai’s rainy season is from December to March, but the region receives light rain. So, even if you’re visiting during this time, there is very little chance of the weather spoiling your outdoor plans.

Summer – Mercury levels start to inch up in April, and by May, summer sets in firmly and extends until October. Temperatures range from 32°C to 40°C during this season, and Dubai sees its highest temperatures from June to September. It’s considered low season, but there are plenty of indoor spaces to explore and activities to sign up for if you visit during this time.

Best time to visit Dubai- By Activity

For sightseeing – The best time to visit Dubai for sightseeing is during the winter months, from November to March. During this time, weather conditions are pleasant and conducive to outdoor activities.

For shopping – Dubai is a year-round shopping destination. The Dubai Shopping Festival takes place in December and January, but the city’s many malls and shopping spaces welcome visitors with a host of events and attractions throughout the year.

What to pack for Dubai?

Dubai has a relatively liberal dress code when compared to neighbouring countries. Still, there are a few dos and don’ts that should be followed while holidaying in Dubai.

Dubai’s warm temperatures call for dresses, skirts, and tops for women and half sleeve shirts, smart trousers, knee-length shorts made from natural fabrics such as cotton and linen for men. Sunscreen, sun hats and sunglasses are essential items to carry on your visit to Dubai

A more conservative dress code comes into play when visiting older neighbourhoods or local markets. Wear clothing that covers your shoulders and reaches down to your knees.

There’s plenty of walking to do here – be it sightseeing or shopping in Dubai’s glitzy malls. So, do pack a pair of comfortable sandals or walking shoes. Dubai’s nightlife scene is worth checking out as well. Accordingly, pack a set of heels or formal shoes and your best evening wear.

Nighttime temperatures can drop into the low teens during winter, so take a warm shawl or jacket.

Regarding beachwear, it’s best to stick to modest single pieces at public beaches. At your resort pool or at private beaches, you can choose to wear two-piece suits too.

Dubai makes for an excellent stopover on your way to a holiday in Asia or Africa. Call our travel specialists to put together a holiday that combines shopping, culture, cuisine and adventure.
