Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a VISA to go across the Canadian border from the USA?
British citizens will need an eTA (Electronic Travel Authorisation) to visit Canada – this can be easily acquired online in a matter of minutes, and cost $7.
What are the VISA requirements for the USA?
America now demands an ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorisation) for anyone entering the country. It allows up to 90 days’ travel and is obtained through the Visa Waiver Programme. Check the UK government website for details.
Am I expected to tip in the USA?
Tipping is not a requirement, however it is customary to tip waiting staff between 15 to 20 percent of the overall bill at sit-down restaurants, as the service industry is not a highly-paid area.
With the intense variety of landscapes and experiences on offer here, it comes as no surprise that around only 46 percent of the North American population doesn’t hold a passport. Whether you want to feel the cool sea breeze as you drive from coast to coast, witness jaw-dropping vistas of towering mountain ranges and canyons, wander through ancient and lush pine forests, or engage in its exuberant nightlife – it’s all here waiting for you.
