Kenya: Walking Safari and Beach

Your African adventure begins in Nairobi. You will be driven from the airport to your hotel in a private vehicle.

Head to the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust to interact with baby elephants and cheetahs, or feed giraffes at the Giraffe Center. Enjoy afternoon strolls and stunning sunsets in the Ngong Hills just outside Nairobi, or visit Nairobi National Park. This is the only place in the world where you can see wild lions against the backdrop of skyscrapers!

You will be driven in a private vehicle from your hotel to Nairobi airport, where you will board your flight to Laikipia Ol Pejeta/Solio. The flight time is about one hour. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to the start point of your walking safari. The travel time is about 2-3 hours.

Set out on an extraordinary walking safari that takes you off the beaten path to experience Northern Kenya’s breathtaking scenery, wildlife, and culture. The high plains of Laikipia, located northwest of the snow-capped Mount Kenya, is among the best safari destinations of the country.

The region is home to numerous endangered species, such as black rhinos, wild dogs, and the finely striped Grevy’s zebras with their radar-like ears. Laikipia spans an area that’s roughly equivalent to Wales, which is sufficient for a small number of safari guests, guaranteeing a calm and unhurried experience.

Embark on a multi-day walking safari across the plains of the Laikipia region - the ultimate African adventure. Accompanied by experienced tracker guides, you will be walking for a few hours every day (5-7.5 miles).

Safari Day 1

On the first day, head to the ancient Nayasura campsite. Enjoy lunch and rest for a while in your spacious tented accommodation, which has comfortable mattresses and solar lighting.

Later, go on a leisurely walk through the rocky landscape with a local Maasai guide, and keep an eye out for baboons and other wildlife. Back at the camp, relish light snacks and sundowners while admiring a beautiful sunset. Unwind with a hot shower and gather around the fire for a three-course meal under the stars before heading to bed.

Safari Day 2

After an early breakfast, begin your journey towards Nyarara Camp. Spot gazelles, oryx, and zebras grazing peacefully as you walk through the bush. You might also see impala, dik diks, and lesser kudu if you are lucky. The staff will travel ahead of you, leading a caravan of camels carrying supplies to set up camp.

Upon arrival at Nyarara, rejuvenate yourself with a refreshing drink and a gourmet lunch. In the evening, take a stroll to find a nice spot to admire the sunset before heading back to your camp for the night.

Safari Day 3

Your destination for day three is the Ewaso Nyiro River, where you’ll encounter plenty of giraffes, elands, and steenboks. If you are feeling adventurous, you can enjoy a quick swim in the river before lunch. After a hearty meal, visit a manyatta, a traditional Maasai settlement, to learn about their culture and way of life. On the following morning, proceed to your next destination.

Spend the night at Tumaren Camp before heading for your next destination.

You will be transferred to Nanyuki, Ol Pejeta or Loisaba for your flight to Masai Mara. The travel time is about 2-3 hours. Your flight to Masai Mara will take about 1-2 hours, and upon arrival, you will be driven from the airstrip to your hotel.

Experience the best of Africa at the Masai Mara. The iconic, vast landscape of golden grass dotted with acacia trees are an amazing backdrop for enthralling wildlife sightings. The region is home to an amazing range of animals - massive Nile crocodiles, playful hippos, lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, giraffes, hyenas, and more.

You can witness the annual Great Migration migration from mid-July to October, when two million zebras and wildebeests journey in search of better pastures. The breathtaking sight of the herds crossing the crocodile-infested Mara river is one of the most spectacular wildlife events on earth.

Eagle View Safari Camp: Morning, Evening & Night game drives, Guided walks and Visit to community projects

Go on thrilling daytime or nighttime game drives accompanied by expert guides to experience the wildlife of the Mara Naboisho Conservancy. As you gaze at a herd of elephants, you might spot a buffalo looking at you warily from a distance. Keep an eye out for jackals and zebras, as well as predators such as lions, leopards, and cheetahs.

The ideal times for these drives are either early mornings, when the wildlife is very active, or late afternoons, when the sun paints the horizon with stunning hues. You will also get to go on exciting night drives to observe nocturnal animals rarely seen during the day.

You will be driven from your hotel to Masai Mara airstrip, where you will board your flight to Kenyan Coast. The flight time is about two hours. Upon arrival, you will be driven in a private vehicle from Kenyan Coast airport to your hotel.

Looking to unwind? The picturesque beaches of the Kenyan Coast, along with the capital, Mombasa, are nothing short of a paradise. Their stunning white sands and the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean makes them among the world’s most magnificent, and they are also well away from the tourist crowds.

Explore rocky outcrops, low cliffs, and sandy bays dotted with corals. Some of the region's notable beaches include Gallu Beach, Tiwi Beach, Diani Beach, Malindi, and Msambweni, which is known for its extensive reefs.

Explore South Coast on your own

Set out from your hotel at a convenient time on an exciting self-guided tour along the stunning South Coast. We recommend exploring Mombasa Island. Peek into its colonial history as you stroll about, and soak in the atmosphere of the vibrant local market. You should also stop by the 16th-century Fort Jesus, a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Visit Haller Park, an open-air animal sanctuary, and see the iconic Mombasa Tusks on Moi Avenue. Try your hand at deep-sea fishing for black marlin off the coastal village of Watamu. You can also board an Arabian-style dhow (traditional sailboat) and journey to Wasini Island, making stops for diving or snorkelling, and watching dolphins and whales.

Another option is to head to the gleaming Diani Beach to enjoy jet skiing, windsurfing, kayaking, kite surfing, and then unwind under the sun. Round off your eventful day with a leisurely sunset cruise and a seafood dinner on board before returning to your hotel.

You will be driven in a private vehicle from your hotel to Kenyan Coast airport, where you will board your flight to Nairobi. The flight time is about one hour. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to the international airport to board your flight back home.
