5 reasons to stay at a Sandals Resort

Last month, I was lucky enough to be invited to experience Sandal’s newest resort — La Source in Grenada — as well as the three Sandals properties in St. Lucia. You may remember me tweeting and Instagram-ing while I was there. I’d never been to a Sandals resort before and wasn’t quite sure what to expect, but I ended up absolutely loving my time there — so much that I’ve recommended the Sandals resorts to many of my friends and family already. Here are five reasons why I think you’ll enjoy a stay there too.

1. The luxurious experience
When we arrived at Sandals La Source, I was quite tired from the flight — but being greeted with a glass of Champagne sure helped perk me up! I felt more and more like a princess as our trip went on, with flower petals scattered on the floor of my room, the staff members that were more than happy to help me with anything that I needed, and the private infinity pool that my bedroom opened up onto… just kidding! I didn’t get to stay in one of the Millionaire’s suites — but I walked through and once I saw that pool, I wished I WAS!

And what’s more luxurious than having your own butler? Butler service is complimentary for select room types and they are there for you whenever you need them. Want to reserve a lounger by the pool? Your butler will do that for you while you’re eating breakfast. Don’t feel like leaving your room for dinner? Room service is available and will be brought right to your door. You can even ask your butler to draw you a bath as you’re on your way back from the beach — all you need to do is call. I didn’t have a butler during my stay but it’s probably for the best — I don’t think I would have ever left if I did!

2. The cuisine
I’m a self-proclaimed foodie, but none of the all-inclusive hotels that I’ve stayed at offered any food that I’d rave about. So I was pleasantly surprised at the high-quality of the food at Sandals — from the extensive breakfast buffet, to the pool-side pizza, to the many options for an à la carte dinner, I actually didn’t stop eating the entire trip! The selection throughout the resorts were varied, the dishes were unique, and most importantly — it was all delicious.

3. The options
Obviously, no couple that visits Sandals is the same. Some may prefer a holiday of complete relaxation away from it all, and some may want to socialize with other couples at the poolside bar while a DJ plays Caribbean music in the background. At each Sandals resort that I visited, there was always an option to choose a quieter pool over the livelier one, or to enjoy a lounge setting in the evening as opposed to the bar with live music and dancing. It’s your holiday, so you can choose — there’s something for everyone.

4. The romantic atmosphere
Kids under 18 aren’t allowed at Sandals resorts and they’re deemed as “couples-only resorts”. That means that everything’s centred around couples — meals, activities, games and other amenities. So if you’re hoping to have a romantic holiday for just you and your significant other — perhaps a honeymoon or anniversary — you can be sure that every element of your holiday will be tailored around just the two of you and that you’ll feel the romance.

5. The extras
To me, an all-inclusive holiday is already a treat in itself. It’s great to be able to swim up to the pool bar, order any frozen cocktail you’d like, and not have to worry about how much it costs or even carrying money on you at all. But the “little extras” at Sandals really make the experience. Things like nightly turndown service (chocolates on your bed make for the perfect midnight snack!), having your luggage delivered to your room for you, and fun evening entertainment like Chocolate Night — complete with choco-cocktails and chocolate-covered models — made my visit even more special. It seemed like the resort’s staff had thought of everything!
