Singapore Sling

From the iconic Singapore Sling to a refreshing Dawa, taste signature cocktails from around the world.

Singapore Sling – Singapore

Created at Raffles Hotel’s Long Bar in 1915, during a time when it was considered improper for women to consume alcohol in public, bartender Ngiam Tong Boon crafted a drink that gave the appearance of juice but the potency of a martini.

Ingredients:

25ml gin

15ml cherry liqueur

7.5ml Dom Benedictine

7.5ml Cointreau

120ml pineapple juice

15ml lime juice

10ml Grenadine

A dash of Angostura bitters

Method:

Add all ingredients into a cocktail shaker with enough ice to fill about two thirds of the shaker. Cover and shake hard and fast until the container feels cold. Fill a hurricane glass with ice, then strain the cocktail over the ice. Garnish with a slice of pineapple and cherry.

Experience the Raffles restoration journey

Having provided over a century of excellence and service unsurpassed Raffles  Hotel invites you to sample their iconic Singapore Sling at Long Bar in their newly-enhanced surroundings. Relax amid the refreshed décor whose inspiration transports visitors to the edge of tropical plantation sophistication. The Long Bar, containing the classic look of cane and rattan chairs with its elegant spiral staircase is open from 11am to 11pm presenting the sling experience where the cocktail was created more than 100 years ago.

Old Fashioned – Louisville, Kentucky
