Your visit to Borneo wouldn't be complete without a visit to witness mans closest relative - the Orangutan.
This full-day excursion starts with an early flight to Sandakan, where you will go directly to Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre. At the centre witness their feeding and learn how these adorable apes are being rehabilitated to become wild in their natural habitat. Take a walk in the Tropical Lowland Dipterocarp Forest of Borneo before heading to the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre, where they work to provide living conditions as identical to their natural habitat - within an enormous, enclosed forest.
Enjoy lunch at English Tea House & Restaurant before commencing a Sandakan City tour. Visit the Agnes Keith Museum to learn about the life in the colonial days of Agnes & Harry Keith. Then discover one of the oldest churches in Sabah, St. Michael's Church a century-old building where Mass is still preached. Next, drive uphill to The Puh Jih Syh Buddhist Temple, located on a steep hilltop where you can have a magnificent view overlooking Sandakan Bay and the Town Centre.
Before going back to the airport, stop at Sim-Sim water village, the oldest water village in Sabah built on stilts, where wooden walkways connect the houses to each other. Converse with the friendly villagers and enjoy your cuppa with local delicacies in one of the houses with your host
