Upon arrival, you will be met by a driver and transferred to the elegantly sophisticated Nairobi Serena Hotel. Centrally located in the city of Nairobi, Nairobi Serena remains true to its title, offering an oasis of serenity amidst the pulsating energy of one of Africa's most vibrant capital cities.

Offering a wide range of facilities and dining experiences, enjoy an afternoon at leisure with a refreshing dip in the swimming pool followed by a 'Mandhari' fine-dining experience at the hotel restaurant. For those feeling adventurous, spend the evening meandering through the city, haggling at busy street markets and sampling the African street food.

After a delicious breakfast at the hotel, we fly to Masai Mara, is one of Africa's most iconic safari destinations.

The landscape of the Maasai Mara is characterized by vast open plains, rolling hills, and acacia woodlands, creating a picturesque backdrop for wildlife viewing. The reserve is particularly famous for its exceptional population of large mammals, including the "Big Five" game animals: lions, elephants, buffalos, leopards, and rhinoceroses. Other wildlife species that can be found in the Maasai Mara include cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, hyenas, wildebeests, impalas, gazelles, and a diverse array of bird species. The Maasai Mara offers a range of activities for visitors, including game drives, guided walking safaris, hot air balloon safaris, and visits to Maasai villages to experience the local culture and traditions.

Leaving the Masai Mara after breakfast, transport will be waiting to take you to the next destination on your Grand Tour of East Africa. Your journey will take you across the Serengeti, a vast and legendary ecosystem located in northern Tanzania, extending into southwestern Kenya. It is renowned as one of the most spectacular and diverse wildlife regions in Africa.

We journey from the Serengeti to Lake Manyara. Lake Manyara is a picturesque lake located in northern Tanzania, at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. It is part of the Lake Manyara National Park, which covers an area of approximately 330 square kilometers (127 square miles). The park encompasses not only the lake but also a diverse range of habitats, including dense woodlands, grassy plains, and a dramatic rift wall. We have a programme of morning and afternoon game drives to enjoy.

After our safari, we fly from Manyara & Ngorongoro to the spice island of Zanzibar. Zanzibar Island, the largest and most popular of the islands, offers a diverse range of experiences. Its pristine white sandy beaches lined with palm trees and turquoise waters make it a tropical paradise for beach lovers and sunseekers. The island's coastline is dotted with picturesque fishing villages and luxurious resorts, providing ample opportunities for relaxation, swimming, snorkeling, and diving in the coral reefs.
