Cape Town
Your holiday begins in the vibrant capital of Cape Town. Brightly coloured houses cover the hills and elegant colonial buildings line the streets. Afterwards, ride a cable car up to the top of Table Mountain at sunset for a view that will take your breath away. At Robben Island, walk in Nelson Mandela’s footsteps. He spent 18 years here in prison before being released in 1990.
If you are a wine enthusiast, you can head for one of the vineyards outside Cape Town. The gorgeous Cape Peninsula is also just an hour’s drive away. Boulders Beach, with its population of penguins, is also highly recommended.
Kruger National Park
South Africa is home to some of the continent's finest wildlife destinations, and Kruger is among the best of them. Spanning 19,485 square km, the park is home to an astonishing range of wildlife. It is home to more large mammals than any other African game reserve, including the Big Five. If you are lucky, you might also spot the rare African wild dog.
