San Francisco
With a laid back Californian charm, there’s plenty in San Francisco to keep you occupied.
Fisherman’s Wharf is home to Pier 39, an area that has grown famous due to the increasing number of wild sea lions that have gathered there to snooze and relax. Head to the pier to observe the animals and learn about them in the nearby Sea Lion Centre.
Of course, no trip to San Francisco would be complete without catching a glimpse of the iconic Golden Gate Bridge. One of the best ways to view the bridge is by bike. Hire a bike from Fisherman's Wharf and watch as the bridge comes in to view before making the journey over the bridge before stopping at the Golden Gate View Point for spectacular views of the city.
Los Angeles
The playground of glitz and glamour, the sprawling city of Los Angeles has something to keep everyone entertained.
Kids and adults alike will adore a day spent at Disneyland Park, with opportunities to ride roller coasters and meet much adored Disney characters. To learn all about the Hollywood movies and how they’re created, head to the Universal Studios for a lesson or two in film studies.
For beachside bliss, head to LA’s famous Venice and Santa Monica beaches. In Santa Monica, you can walk the iconic pier for fairground rides, seafood restaurants and catchy music. In Venice Beach, hire a bicycle to explore the area. You’ll pass by long stretches of white sand, towering palm trees and bohemian beachside stores.
In the centre of the city, search for your favourite star among the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Don’t forget to take that all important snap with the Hollywood sign sitting in the background.
Las Vegas
Where better to finish your American adventure than with a trip to one of the world’s most exciting cities, Las Vegas? There is so much to do, and you’re sure to end your holiday on a high.
