Begin in Vancouver city, which is surrounded by mountains, lakes and emerald green forests, perfect for exploring. It’s also home to a foodie famous market, on Granvile Island, and some exquisite restaurants in Gastown. If you prefer to head out into nature, you can climb Grouse Mountain, which overlooks the city, or take in the views from Capilano Suspension Bridge.
Next, take the short ferry ride to Vancouver Island. The journey takes around 90 minutes. You’ll arrive in the capital of the province, Victoria, which is full of history and culture. Wander through the town and take in its colonial history, before enjoying the shops, restaurants and bars in the evening. In Victoria, you can also explore beautiful Butchart Gardens, which are over 100 years old, before heading to picturesque Craigdarroch Castle.
Nature lovers will find themselves spoilt for choice on our Vancouver Island multi-centre. Head to Campbell River, which is within easy reach of Victoria, and home to some incredible local wildlife. You may even spot a grizzly bear here. Depending on the time of year, you can also book a whale watching excursion, which leaves from Tofino.

Vancouver
Vancouver is a modern city, full of markets and excellent restaurants. Its main draw is the stunning natural landscapes which surround it and the opportunities to get outside and explore.
The marina is a great starting point for water sports and activities. Set sail yourself, book a luxurious sunset dinner or simply watch as the luxury yachts dock for the evening. If you prefer to explore on land, Grouse Mountain offers hiking and cycling trails, as well as excellent views over the city. Alternatively, cycle around the city and through Stanley Park to get a sense of the greenery and pretty sights you’ll find here.
When it comes to dining, there’s a thriving scene in Vancouver city. Head to the markets to pick up delicious local delicacies, or try one of the many restaurants, bars and cafés the city’s known for. From sushi to burgers to tapas to Vietnamese, you’ll find it all in this bustling city.
Vancouver Island
Vancouver Island is the destination for explorers. It’s home to spectacular natural landscapes, including waterfalls, rugged coastlines, rushing rivers and emerald green forests. It’s also home to the magnificent grizzly bear. To see these incredible creatures in their natural habitat, head to Campbell River. You may even be able to watch as they fish in the great river.
For more unique wildlife spotting, book a whale watching boat trip from Vancouver Island’s Tofino. An incredible 20,000 grey whales pass this beautiful coastline every year. Among the animals you can see are humpback whales, orcas and grey whales. You might also spot seals, sea otters, sea lions, bald eagles and puffins, among many more.
For a sense of Canada’s history – and further shopping and dining opportunities – visit the capital of Vancouver Island and the province – Victoria. The city is home to incredible botanic gardens, a castle and beautiful colonial architecture, which can be seen on almost every street.
