Our Wildlife of Chile Tour takes you on an exciting journey through the world’s longest country in search of endemic wildlife. You’ll travel from little seaside ports to glacial fields, spotting fascinating creatures along the way.
The tour starts in the highlands of Santiago de Chile, where you’ll meet the endemic wildlife of central Chile, including the Chilean Tinamou and the Moustached Turca. Then, it’s on to Puerto Montt, a little seaside town where you can enjoy the finest seafood and stroll along streets full of brightly coloured houses.
Our tour continues on to Puerto Varas, where you’ll discover a small collection of islands. You can see colonies of penguins around the rocky coast along with humpback whales, storm petrels and more at Francisco Coloane Park. Start your mornings watching the sunrise while taking in the incredible views of snowy mountains and blue glaciers.
Next, we’ll visit the UNESCO listed Torres National Park, where you can sail across lakes or try paddle boarding. There’s more wildlife here and no shortage of breath taking views to impress – the huge granite rocks and surrounding glaciers are a true sight to behold.

Santiago de Chile
You’ll arrive at Santiago Airport, where you’ll be met and greeted by one of our specialist tour guides. You’ll be accompanied to your hotel and then the entire day is at your leisure. Unpack, settle in and unwind at the hotel or venture out to explore the diverse and bustling Santiago.
Santiago de Chile
After an early buffet breakfast at your hotel, you’ll be picked up and taken to the highlands for the first tour. Today you’ll spot the endemic wildlife of central Chile - the Chilean Tinamou, Crag Chilia, Dusky-tailed Canastero, Moustached Turca, White-throated Tapaculo and Dusky Tapaculo. You’ll journey through the foothills of the Andes near Santiago and discover hundreds of wonderful bird species.
Enjoy a picnic lunch with stunning mountain views and the Andean Condor and other bird species soaring above. You’ll head back to your hotel in the late afternoon.
Santiago de Chile - Puerto Varas
Today, you’ll be driven to Santiago Airport for a short flight to Puerto Montt, where you’ll be greeted and accompanied to your hotel. Enjoy the day at your own pace—explore the charming port city, sample the finest seafood, take a stroll and admire contemporary art at the Casa del Arte.
Puerto Varas
Enjoy an early buffet breakfast before setting off for Vicente Pérez Rosales National Park, the oldest park in Chile. Discover the famous Petrohué Waterfalls and the emerald green Todos Los Santos Lake among striking views of the snow capped Andes Mountains.
Enjoy lunch with clear views of Osorno Volcano at Ensenada Village, then go for a stroll by the Petrohué River and the black sand Llanquihue Lake. You can choose to go on a chairlift ride to glimpse the Andean beauties from above
Puerto Varas
You’re halfway through your Wildlife of Chile Tour and it’s time to set sail for a small cluster of islands in the northern coast of Chiloé Islands. Here, you’ll find colonies of Humboldt and Magellanic penguins waddling around the rocky coast.
After lunch, we’ll visit Caulin, a little fishing village bursting with brightly coloured houses and many more bird species. You’ll also find some of the best oysters in the world here. Enjoy a stroll along the shore and then to the market in Ancud to explore the little gems of the village.
Puerto Varas - Punta Arenas
This morning, you’ll be picked up from your hotel and driven to the airport in Puerto Montt for a short flight to Punta Arenas.
We’ll take a boat or kayak along the Magellan Straits for up close views of the penguin colonies you saw yesterday. There’s also a hike and a trip to visit the indigenous communities of the region before visiting the main square.
Punta Arenas
Today starts with a dawn rise, ready for a full day of wildlife excursions. You’ll set sail at 4.30 am through the famous Estrecho de Magallanes, watching the sunrise at Tierra del Fuego. Take in the immense views of the snowy mountains and dramatic glaciers before moving on to the Francisco Coloane Park. Here, you’ll be able to spot an abundance of wonderful wildlife like humpback whales, storm petrels, seals, penguins and more. After lunch, we’ll set sail back to Punta Arenas
Torres del Paine National Park
After an early buffet breakfast, you’ll be picked up from your hotel in Punta Arenas and taken to your hotel near Torres National Park. Today, you’ll discover jaw-dropping landscapes – the soaring mountains, granite towers and bright blue glaciers that frame this UNESCO Reserve. Choose to sail on Grey Lake or paddle a kayak around the majestic icebergs.
Torres del Paine National Park
The Patagonia Camp offers an array of exciting excursions. Enjoy the day at your own pace and choose your own adventures. These include kayaking, birdwatching and hiking.

Enjoy another day at your leisure with your pick of full or half day excursions. Take in the spectacular landscapes on foot or by kayak.

It’s the last day of your Wildlife of Chile Tour. After a final buffet breakfast, you’ll be picked up and accompanied to Punta Arenas Airport to begin your journey home.
