Tour Mandalay Yangon

Upon arrival at Mandalay Airport, transfer to your hotel. Enjoy an afternoon of comprehensive sightseeing in Mandalay includes Mahamuni Pagoda, home to Mandalay's holiest Buddha statue. Stop to see stone carving and later, watch gold leaf being beaten into wafer thin pieces. Afterwards continue to Shwe Nan Daw Kyaung (Golden Monastery), a superb example of a traditional wooden building and Kuthodaw Pagoda - known as the world’s largest book, consisting of 729 marble slabs engraved with Buddhist scriptures. At sunset visit to Shwe Kyin Monastery to observe the evening prayers is your last stop.

This morning, drive to Amarapura, the penultimate Royal Capital lying 11km south of Mandalay. Visit the 150-year-old U Bein teak bridge, built in 1851 at the time when Amarapura was the royal capital by staking 1060 teak posts over the wide Taungthaman Lake to connect two villages. This is one of the most photographed spots in Myanmar, and it is well worth spending time walking across the bridge. Afterwards visit Bagaya Monastery, with a superb collection of Buddha statues. In the afternoon, transfer to the airport for your domestic flight to Bagan.

Scattered on a large plain beside the Ayeyarwady River are the magnificent red brick temples and pagodas that are the great legacy of the kings of Bagan. Built from 1057 to 1287 AD in honour of the royal Buddhist faith, the pagodas display impressive architecture and interiors of colourful murals and exquisite Buddha statues. From the top, the visitor can enjoy awesome views of the immense, temple-dotted plain.
Pick up from your hotel to the busy local market, continuing with visits to a diverse selection of the most important pagodas and temples in Bagan. These include the Shwezigon Pagoda, a huge gilded temple built by King Anawrahta in the early 11th century and Gubyaukgyi (Wetkyi-Inn), a 13th century temple with exquisite murals of the ‘Jataka Tales’ (scenes from the life of the Buddha). Continue to the eminent Ananda Temple; one of the finest and largest pagodas, with a 51-metre shimmering gold tip, plus four huge standing Buddha images and numerous seated figures arranged around the interior gallery.
Later, visit Moe Moe Lacquer ware factory where you’ll learn how this delicate art is made. Sightseeing continues with visits to Manuha Temple, built in Mon style in 1059; Nanpaya Temple, a unique sandstone monument that is said to have been the palace of King Manuha; and Gubyaukgyi (Myingaba) under the protection of UNESCO because of its ancient mural paintings. Observe a sunset in the vicinity of Bagan's ancient monuments.

Today you will transfer to Bagan Airport for the flight to Heho. From here you will drive to Nyaungshwe on the edge of Inle Lake and board a local boat to your hotel. In the afternoon, take a scenic long-tailed boat ride across the lake to Indaing. Passing through the busy village of Yawama, with its many channels and tall teak houses on stilts, enter a long canal with farmers cultivating their land on either side against the backdrop of the Shan Hills. After disembarking, walk through Indaing village to reach the 14-18th century pagoda ruins of Nyaung Ohak. A covered walkway leads up to Shwe Inn Thein Paya, a complex of weather beaten Buddhist shrines.
Afterwards, return to your hotel by boat.

This morning, visit a colourful local market in the Inle Lake region (available on market day only). Your boat excursion on picturesque Inle Lake will give you the chance to see the famous leg rowers, the typical floating gardens, local methods of fishing and village life. In the afternoon you will visit Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda and the weaving village of Inpawkhon The beauty of sunset over Inle Lake enchants all visitors.
Afterwards, return to your hotel by boat.

Take the boat from your hotel to Nyaungshwe and then proceed by road to Heho Airport for the flight to Yangon. Upon arrival, enjoy a sightseeing tour of this picturesque garden city. Highlights include the colonial-style city centre, the Chinatown area, the Indian quarter and gilded Sule Pagoda, dating back over 2,000 years followed a visit to Bogyoke Market (closed on Public Holidays and Mondays). An extended visit to Shwedagon Pagoda, one of the world's most spectacular religious monuments, will conclude the tour.
This evening transfer to Yangon airport for your onward journey, or alternatively extend your stay in Myanmar.
