Head across the harbour and take a Behind the Scenes tour of Taronga Zoo where you can get up close to some of the country’s unique animals.
Explore the countryside surrounding the city with a visit to the Blue Mountains, which take their name from the blue haze caused by the many eucalyptus plants. Catch a glimpse of koalas, kangaroos and crocodiles and take in the craggy mountain landscapes before stopping off for delicious local cuisine and fine wines for lunch.
Melbourne
Fly from Sydney to Melbourne, where you’ll find a cosmopolitan city full of sights, attractions and laid back locals. Shop in the quirky shops and fashionable boutiques or try an eclectic range of menus at the gourmet restaurants you’ll find on almost every street in the centre. If you prefer to relax on the beach, St. Kilda is home to golden sands, colourful beach houses and beautiful views from the pier.
Our tour includes a Lanes and Arcades private guided walk exploring the heart of Melbourne.
K'gari (Fraser Island)
Set off for a two day excursion of K'gari (Fraser Island). It’s the largest sand island in the world, and is home to crystal clear freshwater lakes and white powdery sands. Ancient rainforests fill the interiors and are full of plants, flowers and exotic birds which are just waiting to be discovered.
Noosa
Next on your tour of Australia, New Zealand and Fiji is the bohemian town of Noosa. This surfing paradise is home to markets and boutiques, as well as relaxed restaurants and trendy cafés which are peppered along Hastings Street. Head into Noosa National Park where you can see lizards, kangaroos, koalas and exotic birds. Take the hiking trails through the forests before admiring the spectacular coastal views. You might even catch a glimpse of dolphins playing in the waves.
Wellington
Fly from Australia to the capital of New Zealand, on the North Island. Wellington is well known for its laid back atmosphere and beautiful surrounding landscapes. It looks out onto the harbour and is surrounded by verdant green hills, with lively streets full of shops, boutiques, cafés and live entertainment to explore. Te Papa is the country’s national museum and houses collections and displays which will immerse you in New Zealand’s rich colonial and Maori past. For fantastic views over the city and its harbour, hike or drive to the top of Mount Victoria.
Rotorua
Head to Rotorua, where you can learn about the fascinating Maori culture of New Zealand. Visit Te Puia, a geothermal valley which is home to geysers, as well as a Maori cultural centre. Watch cultural performances and try your hand at the ancient crafts of weaving or wood carving. You can also see the native bush and kiwi birds in the park. Afterwards, head to the New Zealand Maori Arts and Crafts Institute before visiting Tamaki Maori Village where you can see their modern way of life, as well as witnessing the famous Haka war dance and learning to poi dance. Finish the day with a delicious Hangi feast, which is cooked in a pit dug into the hot earth.
Auckland
Next on your tour is Auckland, which is home to a spectacular harbour and the Bay of Islands. Known for its love of sailing and water sports, this is the ideal place to enjoy a boat trip. For beautiful views of the city and its harbour head to the top of the Sky Tower or simply window shop for superyachts in the Viaduct Harbour. For the ultimate in relaxation, take a boat across the bay to Waiheke Island, where you can unwind on soft sands before heading to a winery for gourmet cuisine and delicious local bottles.
