The Saruni Collection is a group of luxurious individual lodges and tented camps located in some of Kenya's most beautiful and private wildlife conservancies. These lodges not only offer fantastic wildlife spotting opportunities but they also provide elegant comfort while you do so.
Saruni is the only place in East Africa where you can experience the thrill of tracking rhinos on foot. Located in the wild northern frontier of Kenya, not only will you get to see these creatures on foot – a very different experience to being in a vehicle or from the air – you will also be contributing to the protection of this iconic animal.
You will fly from Nairobi into the Samburu National Reserve, where you will stay for two nights at the Saruni Samburu and enjoy game drives by day. The real adventure begins once you leave and head north to Saruni Rhino, where you will spend a further two days tracking rhinos with your guide and ranger – first by vehicle and then on foot.
Your last three days will be spent in the most famous safari area of them all: the Masai Mara. Flying from Samburu National Reserve to the Mara, you will enjoy game drives and the option to stay at Saruni Wild, a luxurious tented camp in the heart of the Masai Mara.

Start your Journey
Arrive in Nairobi
Fly into Nairobi, the capital city of Kenya. It is a vibrant and bustling metropolis located in the eastern part of Africa. We have a free evening after the long-haul flight to settle in and enjoy the city.
We recommend an extra day in Nairobi to discover the unique blend of wildlife, culture, history, and modernity. A visit to the Giraffe Centre or the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust can be arranged with a private driver.
Nairobi to Samburu National Reserve
Enjoy an early morning game drive into Samburu National Reserve to seek out the ‘Samburu Special Five' of the reticulated giraffe, the Grevy zebra, the beisa oryx, the Somali ostrich and the gerenuk, all rare species that occur only in this part of the country. Also look out for the well-known larger wildlife, including elephants, lion and leopard. Enjoy a picnic lunch before heading back to the lodge to relax for the afternoon. Later this evening depart on a game drive in Kalama Conservancy ending with a bush dinner under the stars in the middle of the wilderness, and a night drive back to the lodge.

Samburu National Reserve to Masai Mara
Following breakfast your are driven back to the Samburu for your flight to the Masai Mara. This is a fantastic flight over the plains of Kenya. On arrival, you'll be met and transferred to the lodge. Following lunch there is an afternoon game drive in the Mara North Conservancy returning as the sun sets.
Overnight Saruni Mara or Saruni Wild on a full board basis including soft drinks, beers, house wines and non-branded spirits.

Depart Masai Mara
The time has come to leave. Take a morning transfer to the airstrip for your flight to Nairobi. Once back in Nairobi you can either stay in Nairobi, fly to the coast for a beach stay or connect on to an international flight home. Our Destination Specialists can advise you on your options.
