Things to know before you travel to Goa

  • Flying time for direct flights from London to Goa is around nine and a half hours. The duration for indirect flights is 11-15 hours.
  • British citizens need a visa to travel to India and can apply for one online.
  • English is widely spoken, especially in tourist centres.
  • Relaxed, casual wear is the dress code. It can get hot and humid during summer, so pack clothes made from breathable fabric. 
  • A red flag on a beach means that sea conditions are unsuitable for swimming. Exercise caution while out on the beaches during the monsoon period from June to October.
