The tropical island paradise of Koh Phangan

When you have had your fill of relaxation, why not hire a scooter and explore the forested interior? There are some very beautiful waterfalls away from the beach. There are hiking trails if you wish to enjoy the great outdoors and, if you’re feeling like some adventure then there are a number of zipline treetop adventure centres in and around Koh Phangan. It is quite remote but the journey to Bottle Beach is worth the effort, whether by boat taxi from Chaloklum Beach or on a scooter if you are confident. Spend a day snorkelling in secluded coves as you traverse the coastline by boat. Part of the Chumphon archipelago, Koh Samui to Koh Phangan is only a short boat ride, and some of the best diving in Thailand is to be found at Koh Tao, which is similarly very accessible. It’s easy to reach Koh Phangan so why not consider including this destination in your next Thailand itinerary? After a few days of sightseeing and shopping in the vibrant capital city, you can travel from Bangkok to Koh Phangan by train and ferry. Alternatively, you can fly to the nearest airport on the neighbouring island of Koh Samui.

How do you get to Koh Phagnan?

There is no airport on the island, so you can only get there by ferry. The nearest airport is Koh- Samui (USM) which has frequent flights from Bangkok (BKK) and Phuket, daily flights from Pattaya (U-Tapao), Singapore. Transortation to the ferry pier is easy to find at the airport.
