MalaMala Private Game Reserve

The largest of the three camps, MalaMala Camp combines warm comfort and great service with understated luxury. The camp surrounds the focal point of an inviting lounge area, perfect for relaxing or socialising before and after your game drives. Adjacent to the lounge is the African themed dining room, as well as the iconic "Buffalo Bar", telling stories of the early days of MalaMala through the photographs throughout the bar. 

Relax beside the infinity pool situated in the gardens and observe the wildlife show in front of you, as you look out across the river. Spend an evening sat around the fire at the traditional reed "boma" as you indulge in some African specialities. 

Each of the rooms and suites have private decks or verandahs with views over the sand river or waterhole. Family rooms are able to accommodate a third adult or two children, on request.

MalaMala Camp welcomes children of all ages. Children of 5 years and younger are not permitted in the boma for dinner or on game drives (unless parents have booked a private vehicle).

A more intimate version of MalaMala Camp, Sable Camp, is located in a prime elevated position overlooking the Sand River and, is ideal for those seeking a more private and secluded safari experience. With just 7 suites, accommodating up to 20 guests, Sable Camp can also be reserved exclusively, perfect for celebrating those special occassions. 

Elegant and traditional African themes run throughout, with an expansive wooden safari deck and a swimming pool nestled below. Spend your days relaxing at the camp as you watch an abundance of wildlife from the comfort of your sun lounger. 

Each of the suites have an en-suite bathroom, with bath, shower and private WC, plus, an outdoor shower for a unique nature experience. The private decks boast mesmerising views over the bushveld or waterhole. 

MalaMala Sable Camp does not accommodate children under the age of 12, unless the entire camp is reserved exclusively.

Combining elegance and classic style, the luxurious suites at MalaMala Rattrays Camp are nestled away within the forest on the banks of the world-renowned Sand River. Immerse yourslef within this natual and relaxing atmoshphere as you take a dip in your private plunge pool, cool off in the outdoor shower, or drift off whilst having a massage on the desk. 

The historic bar showcases MalaMala's past with photographs on the walls, whilst the beautifully appointed library accommodates works of art in the form of a selection of rare African books. The main deck accommodates a large infinity pool with picturesque views, and just behind is a small fitness facility. 

Each suite of the eight suites have a private verandah with river views and a private plunge pool, plus, his and her bathrooms with claw foot bath and separate shower. Choose to dine on your private verandah for an exclusive and intimate dining experience. 

MalaMala Rattray’s Camp does not accommodate children under the age of 16.

Capacity on game drives: four guests but this can be increased to six guests per safari vehicle based on guests travelling together.
