Explore Indonesia’s popular island of Bali, before contrasting relatively untouched Lombok and the beautiful Gili Islands.
Our Bali, Lombok and Gili multi centre allows you to experience some of Indonesia’s most popular attractions.
The best time to enjoy our Bali, Lombok and Gili multi centre is between April and October, when the weather is warm and dry. Peak season falls in July and August, so for the quietest holiday plan your trip for April, May, June or September.
Begin on the island of Bali, where you’ll find a wide range of attractions to be discovered. The beach resorts in the south offer beautiful sandy beaches and crystal clear waters, as well as plenty of luxury resorts and hotels. For beautiful interior landscapes, a fascinating culture and art scene, head to Ubud in the hills.
Next on your itinerary is Lombok. This beautiful island remains relatively untouched by visitors and is home to some spectacular beaches. Try surfing in the gentle waves, watch as the locals travel by horse drawn cart or climb to some majestic waterfalls.
Finish your Indonesia island hopping holiday in the Gili Islands. These small, sandy islands are home to white sandy beaches, calm shallow waters and a laid back feel. Try scuba diving or rent a bicycle to get a feel for the islands.

Trip Highlights
- Explore Bali’s unique culture with a visit to Ubud, the island’s cultural heart

Start your Journey
Bali
Bali is Indonesia’s most popular island, and it’s easy to see why. The laidback majority Hindu culture ensures it’s a relaxing place to be, as well as offering some historic temples and a unique cuisine.
The south of the island is home to some of the most upmarket beach resorts, where you can spend days relaxing, knowing everything is taken care of. Try your hand at water sports, indulge with a traditional Balinese massage or shop in the many boutiques which are peppered throughout the resorts. The beach resorts are perfect for foodies too, with many excellent restaurants in the five star hotels, as well as quirky cafés and coffee shops.
For a sense of Bali’s famous culture and arts scene, head to Ubud. Here you’ll find some amazing art galleries to explore, as well as Ubud Market, where you can purchase some of your own artworks to take home. Head to the Monkey Temple Forest, or hire a bicycle and explore the emerald green rice paddies which shelve down the hillsides.
Lombok
Lombok is Bali’s quieter neighbour, and has remained relatively untouched by visitors. Many locals still use a horse and cart to travel around.
The island is well known for its spectacular natural attractions, which include white sandy beaches with crystal clear waters. Keen snorkellers and scuba divers can head underwater and learn about the many varieties of tropical fish which call the vibrant coral reefs their home.
Trek up to a waterfall for some really spectacular views, and a chance to swim in the transparent waters. You can also hike Mount Rinjani, the second highest volcano in Indonesia which is home to a lake and surrounded by luscious scenery.
For an insight into Lombok’s unique culture, book a Gendang dance show or visit the Bau Nyale festival. These lively events showcase the unique mixture of Muslim and animist beliefs held by the local Sasak people. You can experience some of the island’s delicious cuisine at these events as well.
Gili Islands
Indonesia’s Gili Islands are all about the quiet life. These small islands are home to white sandy beaches, gently shelving waters which remain calm and tranquil, and some excellent hotels. Each of the islands is pedestrianised, so you can either walk, cycle or catch a horse and cart to get around.
The Gili Islands consist of three small islands - Gili Air, Gili Trawangan and Gili Meno. Each has its own personality, but they’re all Bohemian and take you back to a simpler time. If you prefer to explore, there are plenty of opportunities just off the coast. Snorkel or scuba dive in the clear waters and you’ll find thousands of colourful tropical fish, as well as lively coral reefs bursting with activity.
For beach parties and a slightly livelier scene, we recommend staying on Gili Trawangan. Here you’ll find beach bars, cocktail spots and lively nightlife where you can dance the night away on the sands.
